Calling Young Climate Leaders (18-30): Represent Your Community at COP29
The Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) is searching for passionate young people to participate in COP29 (the UN Climate Change Conference) as Climate Mobility Youth Delegates.
The Climate Mobility Pavilion at COP29:
- Held in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11th to 22nd, 2024.
- Dedicated to raising awareness about climate-induced migration and displacement.
- Promotes people-centered solutions for climate action.
The CMP Youth Programme:
- Gathers young people from vulnerable regions to advocate for impactful climate action.
- Provides capacity building, speaking opportunities, and networking events.
- Covers travel and accommodation costs for up to 30 selected delegates.
Two Delegate Profiles:
- Climate Mobility Youth Delegate:
- Represents Africa, Pacific, Asia, or Latin America & the Caribbean.
- Has direct experience or knowledge of climate mobility.
- Focuses on amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities.
- Rising Nations Youth Delegate:
- Represents Kiribati, Marshall Islands, or Tuvalu.
- Has experience in climate action and/or Pacific cultural preservation.
Eligibility:
- Aged 18-30 on the application deadline (September 1st, 2024).
- From Africa, Pacific, Asia, or Latin America & the Caribbean (Climate Mobility)
- From Kiribati, Marshall Islands, or Tuvalu (Rising Nations)
- Migrant or displaced youth are encouraged to apply.
