Paid Internship at Wilson Center’s China Environment Forum (CEF)

About the program:

  • Gain practical experience on environmental and energy issues in China.
  • Work in a setting that blends academic study with public policy.
  • Potential to publish research in the New Security Beat and other publications.
Who can apply:
  • Highly qualified undergraduates, recent graduates, or graduate students.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent).
  • Current student, recent graduate (within 1 year), or accepted to an advanced degree program (non-degree seeking students ineligible).
  • US students or international students with valid F-1/J-1 visa and work authorization.
Preferred skills:
  • Strong English writing and editing skills.
  • Bonus: High fluency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese (comfortable translating documents).
  • Strong research skills (academic or non-profit experience).
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Documented interest in China and/or environmental studies.
  • Social media savvy (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Weibo etc.).
  • Prior experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (data visualization a plus).
Responsibilities:
  • Write/edit articles for publications on China and environment.
  • Research from various sources to support ongoing projects.
  • Assist with event planning and logistics (conferences, panels).
  • Prepare grant proposals for research funding.
  • Manage social media and website content.
  • Design publication and outreach materials.
  • Attend environment-related events at the Wilson Center.
Compensation:
  • Paid internship ($17.45/hour).
  • 25-30 hours per week commitment (flexible).
